Dr. Hung-kai Cheng, retired from Hospital Authority (HA) in December 2020, was Chief of Service in Anaesthesia, Service Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Centre, and Deputy Hospital Chief Executive of Tseung Kwan O Hospital, Hong Kong.  He is selected the HA Outstanding Staff (2020).

He has a special interest in healthcare service innovations, e.g. promoting day surgery service and implementing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery. His recent focus is on Smart Hospital development, e.g. telemedicine; IoMT wearables ; 5G technology.
