Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s BODW is, for the first time, a virtual and hybrid event, with select sessions broadcast live on ViuTV and social media and shown on big TV screens in partner locations throughout Hong Kong.
“VISION 20/21 “, this year’s engaging theme, seeks clarity to counter today’s consuming uncertainty, calling upon collaborative creativity for timely insight into the future, its challenges, trends and promise.
The United Kingdom, last year’s Partner Country, returns, this time as BODW’s strategic partner, featuring some 20 speakers and the “Great British Design” series, which will be broadcast during the BODW Summit, December 3-5. Summit highlights range from connected health and safe travels to immersive tech, creative leadership and virtual networking, including meet-ups and live chats. In all, over 100 high-profile speakers are taking part in this year’s BODW.
Concurrent events include Fashion Asia Hong Kong’s “Fashion Challenges Digital Forum” and its “10 Asian Designers to Watch Virtual Exhibition,” as well as the BODW City Programme (CityProg), DFA Awards Exhibition 2020, deTour 2020 and Designlnspire. CityProg is back, featuring over 200 design and lifestyle events from more than 150 creative partners. Together, they enrich BODW, connecting design with daily life.

On behalf of Hong Kong Design Centre, we warmly welcome you to Business of Design Week 2020, Asia’s leading event on design, innovation and brands. Our theme ‘VISION 20/21’ is about finding clarity in uncertainty. It calls for a creative vision that makes a difference in times of change and ambiguity.
This year we are very excited to bring you BODW 2020 in a whole new format – ‘Beyond Virtual, LIVE Global’! We are using every possible avenue to broadcast LIVE, with selective sessions broadcasted on ViuTVsix and across social media platforms, and to live audiences at our BODW CitySalon partner locations. Through these channels, we hope to promote the power of innovative design in Hong Kong, and across the world.
At the BODW Summit, you will hear from over 100 influential design and business leaders who will explore some of the critical topics that will redefine the pandemic era, and inspire us to imagine new possibilities for the future. They include Brand Futures, Connected Health, Safe Travels, Circular Economy, Immersive Tech, Creative Leadership, Entwined Spaces, Communication & Design and Culture & the City.
